As the highest exponent of motorcycle development, MotoGP uses various modern technologies in its prototypes. Wayne Rainey believes that riders should have greater influence, rejecting radio communications as is the case in Formula 1.
The former rider commented to GPOne.com: ‘In current motorcycles, there is an abundant use of artificial intelligence. In my opinion, we should allow riders to have more control and decision-making power‘.
Regarding radio communications between riders and the team, Rainey considers them unnecessary: ‘It’s not bad to receive information. It always depends on what you tell the rider. Currently, every lap is informed with the strategy established first. I don’t think it’s necessary‘.
