After four years of forced absence from the world motorcycle championships, Andrea Iannone is back in racing in WSBK and Dani Pedrosa believes the Italian can have a good performance in 2024. The Italian will have a competitive bike and may even fight for victory in some races, but not for the championship, he believes.
At 34, Iannone will have eyes on him, but Pedrosa hopes he does well, but not – for now – that he is a candidate for the world title: ‘We will see how he does! Racing with Ducati, he will have a good chance to race at the front and fight for victories. However, in the long term, I don’t know if he will be ready to fight for the Championship because he has been absent for a long time’.
Still, Iannone is fast and can be one of the riders out there, fighting for victories, Pedrosa anticipates: ‘I think he has the skills and speed to be at the front, fighting for victory’.
Andrea Iannone will race with the colors of Team GoEleven, with a Ducati, and from 2013 to 2018, he battled with Pedrosa in MotoGP.
