After two podiums in three rounds, the expectations surrounding Pedro Acosta are high, but that doesn’t put any pressure on the MotoGP’s only rookie this season, who is eager to race in Jerez, a track he knows very well and where his bike usually performs well.
Already looking forward to his first race at home, Acosta just wants to enjoy the moment, without any specific goal in mind: ‘The first race at home is coming at a very good time. We just had two consecutive podiums and I am looking forward to racing in Jerez. I don’t have any pressure, what I have is the desire to hit the track in front of what are probably the best fans in the world. Our goals for this weekend remain the same as always, to have as much fun as possible and try to continue with this working dynamic’.
The expectation is that he can have a good performance, given the fact that he knows the track very well and the bike, historically, also performs well at the Spanish circuit: ‘It is true that Jerez is one of my favorite circuits and, in addition, our test team has trained a lot here, so I am sure that the bike will perform well. We also know that the RC16 does well in Jerez, looking at the results from 2023, and that motivates me even more to give my best from Friday in the first session. We will see what happens, see you all there!’
Before this round, Acosta is in fourth place in the championship with 54 points accumulated.
