As the 2024 MotoGP season progresses, the paddock is already abuzz with speculations about potential team changes for 2025, with young star Pedro Acosta often being mentioned. Despite the rumors, Acosta prefers to stay out of the speculation, although he has shared his thoughts on the current complex situation at Ducati.
Acosta believes that Ducati’s decision should be simple when it comes to choosing their rider for the next season. “I think the choice is simple,” said the sensation rookie, who suggested that Ducati should support Jorge Martín, the current championship leader. “If I had to decide, I would choose a rider who is in first place in the world championship with 40 points,” explained Acosta, backing Martín as the clear favorite for Ducati.
Regarding the potential move of Marc Márquez to KTM through a deal with Red Bull, Acosta expressed skepticism due to existing contractual agreements and did not seem bothered by the possibility. “I don’t think Marc will go to KTM because Brad Binder also has a contract for next year. It may be a possibility, since everyone is talking about it, but I am calm,” concluded Acosta, dismissing the possibility of Márquez joining KTM and shaking up the current lineup.
As the season progresses and the “silly season” of negotiations with riders heats up, Acosta’s comments add an interesting layer to the ongoing discussions about the dynamics of MotoGP teams and rider contracts for 2025.
