Pedro Acosta led the warm-up for the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix. It was the session aimed at finalizing the preparations for the main race this afternoon at Mugello, where lap times are always secondary and do not provide solid indications. Miguel Oliveira finished in 17th place.
The first leader of this session was Enea Bastianini (Ducati) ahead of Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha). Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), winner of the Sprint race, finished in 14th place.
Despite the dropping lap times, Bastianini was able to hold on to the lead with the second flying lap, being chased by Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) while Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) climbed to third.
With Bastianini always in first, Acosta was overtaken by Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Espargaró, dropping to fourth… before improving in the final minute to reach first place.
Shortly after, Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac/Ducati) positioned himself in third. Until the end, nothing changed at the front. Acosta remained in the lead 0.082s ahead of Bastianini, with Morbidelli in third.
Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) closed out the top five. Martín, the championship leader, set the sixth fastest time, while Bagnaia was only 18th. Just ahead of the Italian was Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia), who posted the 17th fastest time after never being too far ahead on the timesheets.
