Praise for Pedro Acosta keeps coming. Two podiums in his first three MotoGP Grand Prix races suggest a bright future for the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider, who is considered one of the most promising young talents of today.
In an interview with the website Motosan.es, Marco Melandri spoke about the rookie, highlighting a champion mentality and the competitiveness that Acosta is showing in the premier class:
– Surely everyone thought that Pedro Acosta would be very fast and indeed he is. His mentality seems like that of a champion. That is, when in Austin he started with a medium rear tire and all the other Ducati riders were on soft, he made a very strong decision. He was following his instinct, his feeling.
Melandri believes that Acosta’s tire choice at the Americas GP is proof of the Spaniard’s confidence and mentality: ‘This means that he is very aware of his potential. For me, it was a decision that makes you understand how you think as a rider, and it means that he can be very strong in the championship‘.
