In his debut in MotoGP, during the tests in Valencia, Pedro Acosta already had the opportunity to battle with other riders, namely Maverick Viñales and Jorge Martín, with the latter admitting some surprise with how quickly the “veterans” caught up with him on the Ricardo Tormo circuit. In addition, he explained what he believes to be the ‘complicated part’.
In a video on the competition’s official website, exclusive footage of the rider’s debut in the end-of-season tests can be seen, where he began by recalling the duel with two well-known riders: ‘From the outside, we didn’t seem so fast. Maverick and Jorge [Martín] passed me and in three corners I was like…’
He then explained what, in his understanding, is one of the ‘hard parts’ for now:
– Since the bike is narrower than the Moto2, you can use your legs more and therefore don’t use your arms as much. The complicated part is everything you need to do on the straights, before braking. Because if you could, at least go straight, you could at least position yourself and that’s it.
