Pedro Acosta was among the fastest on Friday at the Italian MotoGP GP in Mugello. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider set the third fastest time in practice, 0.388s behind leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
The Spaniard suffered two crashes during the day, which didn’t affect him much: ‘They weren’t big crashes, I wasn’t pushing when I fell, both times. So, there’s nothing to say about the crashes. I’m happy because even with the crashes we were able to stick to our plan during the day and not lose much time. So, I’m happy,’ he said.
Regarding plans for Saturday, Acosta stated: ‘The margin is everywhere. But it’s true that we need to improve Sectors 3 and 4. We also need to find some reason to understand why we are having the problem we are having. We have improved a lot, tomorrow we will try to focus on race pace in the morning. So, we will try to stay focused’.
Asked to specify what he feels needs improvement, the rookie clarified: ‘More than anything, my lines. Right now I’m losing a lot of time in Sectors 3 and 4. Besides the lines, it’s the same as every Friday, let’s say: watch videos, try to understand everyone’s lines and then try to copy them tomorrow’.
