Pedro Acosta suffered his first major crash in MotoGP during the warm-up of the Spanish GP, which forced him to race with the bike he felt less comfortable on. Additionally, it was an opportunity to draw conclusions.
The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rookie spoke about the physical consequences of the accident: ‘I have pains everywhere, but within what I expected. In the end, it was big. But everything is fine‘.
Regarding the learning experience, Acosta stated: ‘I learned that we cannot destroy a bike in the warm-up. About the crash, this can happen. In the end, it wasn’t as big compared to the one Augusto [Fernández] had in the test, because I was also trying out some mappings and stuff‘.
According to the Spaniard, it is important to understand the difficulties that KTM faced in Jerez, which may be related to the crash… which, he admitted, would eventually happen at some point:
– Anyway, we need to understand what happened this weekend on our bikes compared to last season, because we had more difficulties. And maybe that’s where the crash came from. But anyway, it was something that would happen sooner or later.
