Pedro Acosta arrived in MotoGP this year and is not intimidated by the heavyweight rivals he has already faced in the fight for the top positions such as Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martín, or Marc Márquez.
In fact, the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider managed to step on the podium in only his second Grand Prix, repeating the top three in the third round of the season – where he even led the race.
Despite significantly less experience, Acosta has already beaten some of these rivals in direct battles. But how does the Spaniard justify that this has already been possible? That’s what La Vanguardia newspaper asked him, and in response, Acosta stated:
– It’s competition. They fight for things more important than me; they fight for a World Championship and I go race by race. They can’t take the same risks as me. To me, a fall like in Le Mans doesn’t take anything away or give me anything. To them, a fall, like Martín’s in Jerez or Bagnaia’s in the Sprint, weighs a lot.
