This year, Francesco Bagnaia seeks to achieve his third MotoGP title, remaining with Ducati and one of the strongest bikes in the field. Few riders in history have been champions for three consecutive years, and the Italian will also face strong opposition – especially from Marc Márquez, who will now have a Gresini Ducati.
Davide Tardozzi, team manager of Ducati, told Motosan.es that this is an opportunity for Bagnaia: ‘I am not a rider and I give them the correct advice. I think Pecco will win the third title by beating Marc Márquez with Ducati and enter the Olympus, so it is a challenge to face. He has won two World Championships, how beautiful to try for the third by beating Marc Márquez. I see it this way, I don’t see a problem, I see an opportunity.’
From Ducati’s point of view, Tardozzi also believes that they have something to gain with Márquez in one of their satellite teams: ‘I see the possibility of having a champion who can give us more suggestions to further improve the bike. In the end, we have to see this as something positive.’
