In the first two races of the year, no Honda rider finished in the points in a Sprint. The best race results recorded were Zarco’s 12th place in Qatar and Mir’s in Portugal.
HRC team manager, Alberto Puig, spoke to Motogp.com about the Portimão GP: “Our riders are not completely satisfied with the performance, but they see that we are doing our best. We are in the development phase, that is clear.”
Puig is convinced that his team “is progressing”, but “other teams are as well. We have a mission. Our plan is clear. It’s not easy, but we are investing a lot of resources. We have also strengthened the project in terms of personnel.” In short, despite the lack of results, Puig is convinced that the path is the right one.
