In the fourth round, Fermín Aldeguer secured his first Moto2 pole position of the season. The future MotoGP rider set the pace in the qualifying session for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.
The Spanish rider from Beta Tools SpeedUp was the first to set a timed lap, but was later surpassed by Jake Dixon (CFMoto Aspar/Kalex), before reclaiming the top spot. Aldeguer responded, returned to the lead, and held on after the initial runs on track.
With 12 minutes completed, Manuel González (QJMotor Gresini/Kalex) moved to the top of the timing sheets. However, he could not withstand Aldeguer’s final push, who secured the pole position with two quick laps.
In second place was Albert Arenas (QJMotor Gresini/Kalex), who was 0.438s slower, while Dixon will start from third on the grid. The second row will feature González, Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team/Kalex), and championship leader Sergio García (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro) who qualified sixth.
