The weather forecast for the Sunday of the Australian GP anticipates bad weather with rain and wind. Miguel Oliveira, from the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team, fears very complicated conditions, although there are currently no alternative plans in place.
Questioned about the possibility of having to change the schedule for Sunday for the race to take place, the Portuguese rider commented: ‘Yes, it doesn’t look good. I don’t know how we could do that, because Sunday seems very bad from morning to afternoon. Not because of the rain, in my opinion, but only because of the wind. It could be a bit dangerous to ride. So, I don’t know. I think we will take it day by day and on Saturday we will come up with a contingency plan if Dorna deems it necessary‘.
About changing the main race to Saturday and the sprint race to Sunday, so that the latter is canceled if conditions are impracticable, Oliveira replied: ‘I don’t know, I have to think about it. It’s not a bad idea, but still not ideal. Honestly, I don’t have a better solution, it’s very complicated‘.
