Fermín Aldeguer was the star in the final stretch of the Moto2 season, with four wins in the last four races. The promotion to MotoGP in 2024 with Repsol Honda and the Mooney VR46 Racing Team was on the table.
However, the 18-year-old rider will spend another season in the intermediate category, staying with SpeedUp. The first opportunity he had to make the leap is now behind him – not taken away due to lack of merit.
In an interview with DAZN, Aldeguer didn’t hide the fact that it wasn’t easy to accept the outcome: ‘When you have it in your hands and then, not because of you, but because of others, you can’t go… it’s hard to swallow‘.
