The British motorcycle manufacturer Norton has announced a new partnership with the charity Mental Health Motorbike.
With this new partnership, Norton will make a financial donation to Mental Health Motorbike (MHM), but perhaps more importantly, the manufacturer will also send its employees to receive training as mental health first aiders.
Initially, this training will be aimed at a group of 16 Norton employees, and these trained employees will also be present at MHM events.
In addition, Norton states that it will “establish a committee dedicated to supporting company employees, as well as the motorcycling community in general,” as well as the local area around its headquarters in Solihull.
Rob Ridgway, HR Director of Norton Motorcycles, stated: “Norton is committed to supporting its employees both inside and outside the workplace, as well as the wider motorcycling community that many of them are a part of. The partnership with Mental Health Motorbike is another way to ensure that they are receiving the help they need and are equipped to help others in need as well.”
Paul Oxborough, founder of Mental Health Motorbike, added: “We are very pleased to be working with Norton Motorcycles, helping to increase the mental health support available to their employees and the community at large. This is the first time Mental Health Motorbike has worked directly with a motorcycle manufacturer, so it is a very exciting moment for us and a great moment in the charity’s history.”
