Nicolò Bulega was once again one of the protagonists in the private tests of the Superbike World Championship that ended yesterday in Portimão. The Aruba.it Ducati rookie was the fastest on the opening day and finished second yesterday, just 0.086s behind Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW) who set a new lap record.
Still, the Italian assured the championship’s official website that he has more potential to explore: ‘It was a very good day, my feeling with the bike is good. Obviously, I need to adapt since I’m not at 100 percent, but that’s normal. We are working very well together’.
There are still two more days of testing in Phillip Island, but for now Bulega is satisfied with the preseason: ‘I think it has been very good; we started in Jerez with a normal feeling, but every day my feeling got better, so this is very important and I think we have some margin. We will try to be more prepared in Australia. It’s a little better than expected. I don’t have many things to do; more time on the bike, more laps, and better understanding of the bike with worn tires and low fuel. I’m excited and looking forward to Australia with this fantastic bike’.
