Nicolò Bulega was once again the fastest on the second day of testing for the Superbike World Championship in Jerez. The rookie set the pace by a clear margin, promising to be a “serious case” in the 2024 season.
The Aruba.it Ducati rider was the only one to lap in 1m37s (1m37.809s) and beat Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha) by 0.536s. Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) was third, followed by Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW) and Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven/Ducati) who was the last to stay within one second of the leader.
Between Razgatlioglu and Iannone, the time table shows Stefan Bradl. The Honda test rider was working with the MotoGP RC213V, taking advantage of the possibility of conducting several days of testing throughout the year. The reigning WSBK champion, Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati), could only manage the 17th overall time.
As for the Supersport World Championship riders, the fastest was Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), surpassing Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) by a clear 0.336s. Adrián Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati), who led the category yesterday, was third at 0.554s, with the top five closed by the MV Agusta duo: Bahattin Sofuoglu and Marcel Schrötter.
