Ducati rider leads final test day with lap that would have broken track record

Nicolo Bulega left an impressive mark on the final day of testing at Misano, preparing for the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round of the Superbike World Championship. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider only participated in the second day of testing, but it was enough to finish at the top with a time of 1'32.093s.

This chronometric record would have been sufficient to shatter the track record of 1'32.320s by almost a quarter of a second, had it been recorded during an official round. The performance demonstrates the excellent form Bulega is experiencing this season, where he leads the championship with a 31-point advantage after his Race 2 victory at Most.

'Honestly, it was a difficult day, we had some problems at the beginning of the day, we solved most of them, but there are still some corners that I don't feel 100%', revealed Bulega after the session. The Italian rider showed himself simultaneously satisfied with the speed demonstrated and aware that there's still room for improvement.

Bulega's honesty about the difficulties faced during testing reveals the perfectionist mentality that has taken him to the top of the championship. 'I'm happy because I'm fast anyway, but I would like to improve. The speed maybe not, but my feeling on the bike could be better', he explained, demonstrating that the pursuit of perfection continues even when results are excellent.

Looking to the near future, Bulega showed confidence in his possibilities, making a bold promise for the Misano round. 'I now feel 90% happy with the bike. If the track temperatures don't get too hot, I think I can make it into the 1'31s range', he declared, suggesting that the best is yet to come when official action begins at the weekend.
