Yamaha has announced the release date for the new Tracer 9 GT+ Y-AMT in the Japanese market. It will be on May 28, just over a month away.

The latest generation of the Tracer 9 GT is more high-tech than ever, with the main innovation being the new Y-AMT automatic transmission introduced last year. It comes as standard equipment in this variant.

The engine is an 888 cc three-cylinder, capable of delivering around 118 hp at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

The Y-AMT transmission can be used fully automatically but also allows the rider to manually select the gear. The choice is made via a button (AT and MT), with two automatic modes available (D and D+).

The bike also features three riding modes and two additional customizable ones, along with traction control, adaptive cruise control, and radar that detects blind spots and alerts to dangers.

In terms of suspension, it is fully adjustable – thanks to the KYB Actimatic Damper System. It includes an inverted fork at the front and a rear shock absorber.

The unified braking system includes hill-start assist, with two hydraulic discs at the front and one hydraulic disc at the rear wheel.

The windscreen is electrically adjustable, there’s a smart key, heated grips, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a seven-inch TFT instrument panel with integrated navigation and smartphone connectivity via the MyRide app to receive calls and messages and listen to music.
