Aprilia Racing counts on a completely renewed factory team for 2025, and in Neil Hodgson’s opinion, doubts about its quality are becoming increasingly non-existent, with the Italian showing to be quite fast.

In the opinion of the TNT Sports commentator, in words to Crash, Bezzecchi – who was initially met with some disbelief after being announced by the Noale manufacturer – has shown that he is someone to be taken into account and not «just» a second rider with less impact on the team.

Sixth in Sunday’s race at the Thailand GP, Bezzecchi showed speed, and Hodgson believes that #72 is not just a rider with an average level, but rather quite capable, as he explained: ‘It’s proof that Aprilia has hired two incredibly talented riders, and not a strong number one and a «reasonable» number two’.

The Briton recalled the Italian’s recent past and how he had different moments in his MotoGP career so far: ‘Bezzecchi was third in the world two seasons ago, but had a disastrous season in the last one. He never adapted to the Ducati with the 2023 specifications, said from the first test that he hated it’.

Bezzecchi qualified for the Thailand GP in eighth place, which equals the third row of the grid. He was 12th in the Sprint and 7th in the long race.
