The 12th place in the main race made it clear the difficulties that Maverick Viñales faced in the MotoGP Catalan GP. Without breaks, the Italian GP, the home round of his team – Aprilia, follows.
The Spaniard, who hasn’t reached the top ten in Mugello since 2021, acknowledged that this has been a challenging circuit for him, but now faces it with the latest version of the RS-GP:
– Mugello has been a demanding track for me in recent years and I have never been able to find the right feeling. I am curious to see how I will perform with the new bike.
Nevertheless, Viñales emphasized his confidence for this GP: ‘I am sure we will be able to do a good job, because this is Aprilia’s home GP. I am highly motivated and we will give 100 percent.’
Currently, the rider is in fifth place in the championship, with 87 points. The highlight of the season so far was the victory at the Americas GP, after which he has not returned to the podium.
