After a three-week break, the MotoGP championships return this weekend. The Americas GP in Austin is the third of the season, being the only transatlantic crossing this year.
In MotoGP, Ducati has shown superiority in Qatar and Portugal, with Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) currently leading the World Championship. He has 18 more points than Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) and is the only one with a 100 percent podium record so far.
The champion of 2022 and 2023, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), seeks redemption not only from the crash in Portimão, but also from the accident that kept him from victory in Austin last year. And this is a circuit where Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) is usually always competitive, now sparking curiosity to see if he can also be competitive in a Ducati.
The range of possible candidates for the top positions is vast, including Binder, Enea Bastianini (Ducati) who has already won the Americas GP in 2022, Aprilia riders Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, or even Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) who has been one of the sensations this year.
As for Moto2, Arón Canet (Fantic Racing/Kalex) arrives in the United States with a double motivation – his first victory in the category and the fact that he is fighting to defend the lead. He has only two more points than Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex) who is competing at home here. After finishing fourth in Portugal, Fermín Aldeguer (SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) now seeks his first podium of the year to get closer to the top of the table.
Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) arrives in Austin at the top of the Moto3 World Championship, being the only one with podium finishes. He won in Portugal and has seven more points than David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar). Iván Ortolá (MT Helmets MSi/KTM) is third in the championship, but already 15 points behind the rival immediately ahead, despite a podium finish in Portimão.Here are all the schedules (in mainland Portugal time) for the GP of the Americas.
