It is with some caution that Miguel Oliveira prepares to face the Japanese GP, on a track that historically has caused some problems for Aprilia and does not leave the Portuguese very excited. The goal is therefore more modest, with the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP rider aiming for the top ten.
On Japanese soil, Oliveira was asked about what he expects from the weekend in Motegi, and the response was not the most encouraging, although honest from #88: ‘The expectations are not very high I must say. We know it is a difficult track for Aprilia. Last year the performance was not fantastic but of course, we will try to maximize our strengths and minimize where we will lose more: during braking points and acceleration but, other than that, it will be a weekend of normal approach’.
Therefore, the objectives regarding positions in the races are equally moderate: ‘I would love to say a top ten, that would be a good result and anything above that would certainly be a bonus’.
Miguel Oliveira is 13th in the championship with 69 points.
