Miguel Oliveira finished the Sprint race of the Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix at Sepang in 18th place. The CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider hardly made any overtakes on track and only gained one position compared to his starting grid position.
After starting from 19th, the Portuguese rider lost a position in the early stages, dropping to 20th. On the second lap, he was overtaken by teammate Raúl Fernández, falling to 21st. He would regain the position on lap four, swapping with Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) after he crashed.
One lap later, it was the other Repsol Honda rider, Joan Mir, who crashed, leaving Oliveira in 19th. The recovery continued on lap seven, overtaking Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda).
Until the end, the rider from Almada didn’t stray far from Raúl Fernández in front of him, but was unable to overtake his teammate and had to settle for the 18th final position.
