Miguel Oliveira finished the MotoGP Qatar GP practice in 19th position. After even leading, he was unable to keep up with the pace at the front in the final phase and will have to go through the first qualifying phase – while his CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team colleague, Raúl Fernández, set the fastest time.
With his first flying lap, the Almada rider was in 12th, then entered the top ten with his second attempt. Just over a quarter of an hour into the session, when he had not yet shown a solid pace, he was in ninth place and returned to the pits.
On his return to the track, just over ten minutes later, he put on two soft tires and immediately improved to go to the top of the timesheets. His second pit stop did little to change his position. When he returned to the track, Oliveira was already fifth. Despite it being a short stint, he did not improve during it and dropped to 13th.
When he started his last sequence of laps, “Falcão” was already in 16th place, continuing to lose positions. When he improved his time, it was not enough to go beyond the 18th place he was in. On his last lap, Oliveira ended up not being able to improve due to a yellow flag caused by Jack Miller’s fall (RedBull KTM) and finished in 19th place.
