Miguel Oliveira is one of the many riders with an uncertain future in MotoGP. Currently at the end of his contract with Trackhouse Racing, he has also not been delivering the performances expected of him, in order to unequivocally show that he deserves to continue with the team or to be an option for another team.
Last week, the Italian press reported that the Portuguese rider may be in talks with Prima Pramac Racing. Something that he himself classified as speculation, in statements to SportTV this Monday:
– Rumors come from things that are not true and then things are created out of nothing. In the end, that’s it. So, I can only say that they are rumors as for sure now during these three weeks we will also hear many rumors created out of nothing or from words and distorted statements that someone may make.
Speculation always plays a part in the silly season of the MotoGP rider market, especially in a year like this where almost everyone ends their contracts. Many rumors do not end up being confirmed, others become reality, and there are also surprises like the announcement of Jorge Martín by Aprilia this Monday.
As for Oliveira, one thing is certain: despite only failing to score points in one of the first seven Grand Prix races of the season, he will have to improve his results and performances, be more regularly among the top ten and close to the other current Aprilia RS-GP, in order to have more negotiating power in this market window.
