There are aerodynamic solutions… and there are aerodynamic solutions. Many of them are aesthetically unappealing (to say the least…), but that is not the case with the new rear part of the Aprilia RS-GP.
The elaborate aerodynamic profile of the back section of the Italian motorcycle seat, which somewhat resembles the old Cadillacs, is quite elaborate, while also providing a distinctive aesthetic effect.
Whether it is a valuable addition as intended, we will have to wait for the comments from Aprilia’s riders and technicians. Judging by the timing table, it seems to be fast: with 1h15m remaining in the day, the current three RS-GP bikes are in the top 12, less than a second behind the leader, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
