The Sprint race of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix lasted less than two laps for Miguel Oliveira, who retired due to a crash at turn 10 following a collision with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
But even before the incident, the race was not going well for the Portuguese rider. At the start, where he was in 11th position on the starting grid, he was unable to deactivate the height adjustment device.
As a result, he lost several places and ended up in 16th, having to recover. Oliveira explained that the origin of the problems with the device were changes made to the bike:
– We tried something in the morning, it didn’t work, so I qualified on my bike with Friday’s setup, which wasn’t perfect. So, for the race, we made some changes that included a stiffer front spring. And that made it difficult to deactivate on the way to turn 1. But we will analyze it.
