Miguel Oliveira faces the Buriram circuit this weekend for the fourth time in his career. The Thai GP and track debuted on the calendar in 2018, but did not feature in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
In Thailand’s first MotoGP year, the Portuguese rider was still competing in Moto2. At that time, he achieved third place, with a strong end to the season that led him to second place in the championship.
In 2019, now in MotoGP, Oliveira faced difficulties and finished only 16th in what would be his last race without points that year – he scored in Japan and was absent due to injury after the last free practice of the Australian GP.
After the peak of the pandemic, MotoGP returned to Buriram last year. It was a race marked by rain, in which “Falcão” once again proved his worth in those conditions with his latest victory to date.
Miguel Oliveira in Buriram:
2018: 3rd (Moto2)
2019: 16th (MotoGP)
2022: 1st (MotoGP)
