Miguel Oliveira closed the second free practice of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix with the 18th fastest time. In a session intended for preparation rather than setting fast laps, the Trackhouse Racing rider was almost always outside the top five.
On his first flying lap, the Portuguese could only manage 20th place. By exceeding track limits, he lost his second lap, which dropped him to second to last. He then went to the pits, falling to last place.
After completing his first run with two medium tires, he returned to the track with a medium tire at the front and a soft tire at the back, both used, for the second stint. When he improved his time, he reached 18th place.
He then climbed to 15th with a new improvement, but despite setting a pace in the high 1m46s, he would drop to 16th before entering the pits for the second time.
When he was already in 18th, Oliveira returned to the track for the last five minutes. Without improving until the end, he finished in 18th place, being 1.092s slower than leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
