Yamaha has signed Miguel Oliveira for the 2025 and 2026 MotoGP seasons, placing him in the new satellite team Prima Pramac Racing. Lin Jarvis, the current managing director (set to be succeeded by Paolo Pavesio in 2025), is confident in the value the #88 rider can bring.
The Briton, who was described by Oliveira as ‘key’ in the negotiations, welcomed the Portuguese rider: ‘We are pleased to announce that a professional and experienced rider like Miguel Oliveira is joining the Yamaha line-up for 2025/26, and we bid him a warm welcome to the Yamaha MotoGP project’.
Jarvis believes Oliveira will be a valuable asset, drawing on his extensive MotoGP experience with KTM and Aprilia since his debut in 2019:
– Miguel is a rider who has the technical know-how, experience, speed, and precision needed to improve the performance of the Yamaha YZR-M1. We are really looking forward to working with him as a key member of the Yamaha MotoGP project, and he can count on our full support.
