Miguel Oliveira finished the MotoGP Spanish GP training session in Jerez in 19th place. It was not an easy session for the Trackhouse Racing man, who even suffered a crash and was unable to fight for direct qualification to the second phase of qualifying.
Although he was in ninth place with his first flying lap, the Portuguese rider did not improve on his second attempt and dropped out of the top 15. When he did improve, he entered the 1m37s and moved up to 11th. Despite setting a faster time, when he returned to the pits after six timed laps, Oliveira was in 12th on the timesheets.
The second sequence of laps for #88 began with less than 40 minutes remaining, when he had dropped to 14th… a position he maintained when he improved his time for the first time in this outing. With about 25 minutes left until the checkered flag, Oliveira suffered a crash at turn 13 while in 15th place.The return of Oliveira to the track happened about fifteen minutes before the end. When he improved, he moved up to 14th. However, when he returned to the pits later, he was already in 17th place. Despite improving his time on this last track outing, the driver from Almada could not go beyond 19th position, and will have to go through the first phase of qualifying.
