At the end of the season, Michelin Motorsport director Piero Taramasso took stock of 2023 and left some notes on the news that are already being prepared for the upcoming season.
‘To work on the bikes, trying new things on the machines, the base is the same as the tires used in races, we have new front tires, which have new components, which are softer and medium. The third tire will be a debut in 2025, here the difference will be in the construction and also in the profile. The goal is to find a slightly harder and stiffer compound, so that it is less sensitive to temperatures and pressure. Before the start of the season, we will talk to Dorna, FIM and IRTA, because it will be the new season with the new regulations. If modifications are necessary, we will be open to it,’ highlighted the official to Spanish DAZN.
‘The tests in Misano were positive, the new compound technology tested to improve a bit more braking and consistency, three different components were tested and the results were good. We will try out new things in Sepang and also in Qatar. As the level is very high, we will definitely do more quality checks’.
