Recently, Michele Pirro returned to action by testing a Ducati Panigale V4 S at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. It was two days that served to regain rhythm on the track and assess his physical condition, after injuring an ankle during a participation in the CIV last year.
Quoted by GPOne.com, the Ducati test rider confirmed that he is almost recovered, not needing analgesics to ride: ‘These were two very important test days for me. For the first time since I injured my ankle at the end of the CIV season in Imola, I rode without taking analgesics! I return home from Portimão with good sensations, although at the end of the day my foot tended to swell anyway. But a fundamental aspect was to go back to using the boot I used before Imola. A sign that the swelling has practically disappeared.’
Pirro’s next commitment is in Sepang at the official MotoGP tests in early February, ensuring that he will already face them in a good physical… and mental state: ‘I realized in Portimão that my physical condition is returning to great levels. These tests proved to be a cure, not only for my body but also for my spirit, as I shared the track with other riders I know well and with several friends, spending hours without worry and relaxing. All the winning ingredients to start the season in the best possible way.’
