Strongly affected by the increase in the Single Circulation Tax foreseen in the State Budget for 2024, motorcyclists from all over the country will take their protest to the Presidency of the Republic on November 5th. Therefore, on Sunday, at 12 o’clock, thousands of motorcyclists will gather on the 2nd Circular (Encarnação) from the North of the country, via the A1; from the Algarve through the A2; and from the Beiras/Alentejo via the A6, heading to the Belém Palace where they will deliver a letter addressed to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, expressing concerns about another highly discriminatory measure by the Government.
Organized protest by GAM – Motorcycle Action Group, an entity that fights for the defense of the rights and interests of citizens/motorcyclists, and that will cross Lisbon from the 2nd Circular, passing through Campo Grande, Av. da República, Av. Fontes Pereira de Melo, Marquês de Pombal, Rua Braamcamp, Largo do Rato, Rua S. Bento, Calçada da Estrela, Av. Infante de Santo, Av. da Índia, Praça Afonso de Albuquerque and Rua de Belém, until Praça do Império, where the demonstration will end. And just as it did with the Luxury Tax issue, the Rail Law, Inspections or the 125 cc letter, GAM will not stop until its voice is heard. The voice of all motorcyclists!
It should be noted that the caravan will not stop at the meeting point (on the 2nd Circular) and that the police authorities have been informed of the demonstration, starting at 11 am, with the departure of hundreds of motorcyclists concentrated at the Service Areas of Aveiras de Cima (A1), Alcácer do Sal (A2) and Vendas Novas (A6). A demonstration that will bring together motorcycles of all engine sizes and aims to show the outrage of motorcyclists in the face of such an ill-advised measure.
