In 2022, a new motorcycle brand with Italian origins was launched. Called MBP, or Moto Bologna Passione, the brand was founded by Keeway Motor Group, a sub-brand of the Chinese motorcycle giant, Qianjiang (also known as QJ Motor). At EICMA 2022, the brand presented a series of impressive models such as the T1002V, this time targeting the beginner rider segment with the launch of two naked streetfighters.

The two models are the N250 and N300, which are almost identical in terms of styling, but vary slightly in terms of performance and equipment. However, it is more than likely that these two models will not be sold in the same markets. The N250 will probably be sold in Europe, in accordance with A2 licensing regulations, while the N300 will go to the Asian market to compete with bikes such as KTM, Kawasaki and Bajaj.

Whatever the case, it’s clear that MBP wants to introduce a range of affordable models for novice riders, and the new N series clearly follows a tried and tested formula. From a styling point of view, they use an exposed trellis frame design and an angular fairing. At the front, we find an interesting LED headlight with a single centrally mounted bulb and a DRL at the bottom.

The bikes have a fairly respectable base, despite their entry-level status. A set of KYB inverted forks handles the front suspension, while a KYB monoshock provides preload adjustment. As for the brakes, front and rear discs with dual-channel ABS. Like most naked bikes of this type, the MBP N250 and N300 are equipped with 17-inch wheels at the front and rear. MBP goes for a premium look with full LED lighting, as well as a five-inch TFT color display and backlit controls.

When it comes to performance, the N250 and N300 are slightly different, but both have single-cylinder engines. The smaller N250 has a 249 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected unit with 26.5 hp of power and 22 Nm of torque, and promises a top speed of 128 km/h. Meanwhile, the N300 boosts performance a little with its 298 cc engine delivering 29.5 hp and 27 Nm of torque. As a result, the top speed is over 139 km/h. Both bikes have a very affordable weight of 145 kg.

At the time of writing, prices and availability of MBP’s new naked streetfighters have not yet been announced. However, it is likely that these bikes will be launched first on the European and Asian markets, before they are even presented on the North American market.
