Maverick Viñales, like most of the current grid riders, sees his contract expire at the end of 2024 and therefore knows that soon he will sit at the negotiating table. The offers, he guarantees, can come from both the current manufacturer he represents and others, with him actually being convinced that there will be several teams interested in his services.
Quoted by Motosan, the Spaniard did not hide that he is open to all possibilities and showed confidence that he will receive many offers: ‘I will think about everything, obviously, I think it is necessary to think well, learn from the past, because I learned a lot, from mistakes and non-mistakes. I think I will have several proposals, not only from Aprilia. I need to think about what I want and what will be best, not only for me, I also have a family, I need to understand well the complete package that will be best for the future’.
The Spaniard made it clear, however, that he is very happy with Aprilia and is fully focused on the plan that the brand has: ‘But it is obvious that I love this company, which gave me the opportunity and that, in this 2024, my involvement and commitment are 200% in this project’.
It should be noted that Viñales, according to rumors, may have already received a very interesting offer from Honda, since only Luca Marini has a contract until 2025, as well as Johann Zarco (LCR Honda), while Joan Mir and Takaaki Nakagami are only secured until the end of this season.
There are also some news talking about Marini’s desire to break the contract he has with the manufacturer, while Nakagami, supported by the structure and following the words of Lucio Cecchinello, should be safe since the poor results… are not his fault.
