After winning with Suzuki and Yamaha, Maverick Viñales achieved his first victory with Aprilia last Sunday. It was three different projects, and in this particular one from the Noale constructor the task was to climb to the top: when he arrived in 2021, it was a mid-table team, and now they are fighting for the top positions.
The Spanish rider did not hide that this victory is different from the others, stating in a press conference: ‘The victory with Aprilia has a different value, because when I signed with them, they were in 15th, tenth, and seeing how much we have made this factory grow is incredible. It is obvious that we are a great factory‘.
– We still need time to improve and be more consistent, but I see this year with a lot of potential ahead of us. We have to be very smart and very focused on the work, and especially things like what happened in Portimão are about gaining more experience and more time at the front.
