After some ups and downs in the first nine rounds of the season, Maverick Viñales is set to begin the second half of the MotoGP season with a determination to return to strong results at this weekend’s British GP at Silverstone.
It was eight years ago at the British track that the Aprilia rider won for the first time in the premier class, and now he approaches the British GP with enthusiasm and energy, as he stated:
– I’ve always felt competitive at Silverstone, it’s always exciting to race here, on a track full of history. I’m full of energy after the summer break, I’ve been training, and I’m ready to tackle the second half of the season. We’ll try to exploit the full potential of the bikes.
Viñales also commented on Raúl Fernández from the Trackhouse Racing satellite team, who will be riding the latest version of the Aprilia for the first time: ‘Raúl will be riding the RS-GP24 for the first time. It will be great to have four 2024 bikes on the track and very useful to gather as much data as possible’.
