The Moto2 European Championship is taking place this weekend at Estoril, and the two races of the category have already happened, with two different winners in each. Mattia Casadei won the first race, while Roberto García overcame everyone in the second. Ivo Lopes, replacing the injured Brett Roberts, crashed in the first race and finished tenth in the second.
The first race ended with Casadei (Team Ciatti/Boscoscuro) as the winner and with a wide margin over Jorge Navarro (Forward Eest Racing/Forward), with more than 12s separating the riders. Taiga Hada (Gas Up Racing Team) was the best with a Kalex, finishing third. Alberto Surra and Mattia Rato completed the top five.
Ivo Lopes, racing with the EasyRace Team, had bad luck and crashed after completing two laps, thus ending his performance prematurely.
In the second race of the day, García (FAU55 Tey Racing/Kalex) stood out as the winner, pushing Casadei to second place, while Alberto Fernández (Finetwork Team/Boscoscuro) finished third.
This time, Lopes had no major mishaps and finished the race in a respectable tenth place, crossing the finish line with a 13.399s delay to the winner.
