Francesco Bagnaia did not manage to secure a third consecutive MotoGP title. However, in the face of defeat, he showed grace, managing his emotions and accepting the outcome, as well as the superiority of his rival, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
Bagnaia’s attitude was recognized even by competing teams. Massimo Rivola, the CEO of Aprilia Racing, approached Bagnaia in the paddock to congratulate him, stating:
– I want to congratulate you because both of you had a fantastic season, the most fair and respectful season I’ve ever seen. But after [the finale], you were a true gentleman. Many people must learn from you.
This serves as another example of sportsmanship in MotoGP, marking the second consecutive season of a healthy rivalry between Bagnaia and Martín. The Spanish rider will now move to Aprilia, where he will work alongside… Rivola.
