The Japanese GP was marked by the Sunday session, which ended up being suspended due to worsening weather conditions and the display of the red flag, a decision that was accepted by virtually everyone. One of them was Massimo Meregalli, who just wants to forget this race and focus on what comes next.
For the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Director, this was a particularly difficult weekend: ‘This was one of the most challenging weekends of the season so far. We had a tough qualifying, a challenging Sprint, and Sunday’s race was interrupted due to heavy rain that caused poor track conditions’.
The decision to stop the race was the right one, he added: ‘We fully agreed with the decision to display the red flag when they did. There is not much to say about the race. Let’s leave this race weekend behind. Let’s use the one-week break to recharge our batteries and prepare for the busy schedule of GPs ahead’.
