Álex Rins completed a difficult race at the British Grand Prix, finishing in 14th place after an intense battle through the midfield at Silverstone. The Spanish rider benefited from the race restart to improve his position, but couldn’t maintain himself among the top ten finishers.

In the original race, Rins was in 17th position when the red flag was shown on the third lap. The restart offered him a second opportunity, starting from 12th position on the grid for the reduced 19-lap race. The Yamaha rider made good use of the opening meters, moving up to 9th place in the first corners.

However, Rins couldn’t maintain the desired pace during the race, spending most of the time battling between 15th and 16th positions. A final charge allowed him to move up to 13th place, but he was relegated to 15th in the last corner, later being promoted to 14th due to a penalty applied to Brad Binder.

Massimo Meregalli acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Spanish rider during the British weekend. ‘Álex had a better start to the restart, but he couldn’t push the way he wanted and fight with the riders in the mid-pack’, admitted the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Director.

‘All in all, this race didn’t play out in our favour, but we will regroup and look forward to trying again in two weeks’ time in Aragon’, concluded Meregalli, showing determination to overcome the difficulties and better prepare the team for the next challenge in the world championship.
