It is with confidence that Yamaha approaches this round of MotoGP in the United States of America, as both Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins have already had success at this track, making Massimo Meregalli dream of a positive result in a very complicated season.
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Director began by recalling the private test that was canceled in Portugal due to weather conditions: ‘We are racing in Austin after a two-week break. We were very disappointed to have to cancel the Portimão private test due to heavy rain. But it didn’t make sense to put our riders in danger in those treacherous conditions. However, this means we have to make up for lost time on track’.
Then, Meregalli confessed to being confident for the next round: ‘COTA is not the easiest track, but we are optimistic about this round. Our riders like this circuit and have achieved good results here in the past, and the team always enjoys the atmosphere of this race weekend’.
The leader also did not forget the confirmation of Quartararo’s stay with the Japanese team: ‘With Fabio announcing his stay, the atmosphere in the team is positive. We are all motivated to work, so we are looking forward to starting the Austin rodeo’.
