Marco Bezzecchi had his best season in MotoGP so far in 2023, finishing the year in third place overall. However, the (now) Pertamina Enduro VR46 MotoGP Team didn’t even have the latest version of the Desmosedici, which increases his value as a rider.
When asked by Manuel Pecino about the performance of his GP22 compared to the 23 of the championship’s main highlights – Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín – the rider told Motosan: ‘Let’s say that on braking at the end, the bike is quite similar, it’s not very different. They manage to have a little more grip, a little more traction, and they have some new devices and for the exit they are also a little stronger’.
Still, the feeling about the real differences between the two bikes is not exactly certain, and he explained why: ‘But you know, without testing, it’s difficult to know for sure what the differences are’.
Bezzecchi won three races this year: the Sunday races in Argentina and India, and the Sprint race in the Netherlands.
