Marco Bezzecchi had a brilliant start to the MotoGP season, with two wins in the first five rounds – finishing on top in the Argentina and France GPs. There was then a drop in performance, despite achieving more podiums and finishing the season in third place in the championship.
An important moment was the injury to his right clavicle, but the Italian from the VR46 Racing Team refused to blame his physical condition. In statements to the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, he admitted that other factors also contributed to his poorer performances:
– It’s not easy to always win, for sure. However, until the injury, I was fast and finished races among the top six several times. Then I injured my right clavicle and at that moment it was difficult to remain competitive. However, I don’t want to make excuses, the injury was not the only reason I lost competitiveness: I wasn’t as effective as at the beginning of the season due to other factors as well.
