Marc Márquez may indeed be close to joining Gresini for the next MotoGP season. The rider is said to have decided to leave Repsol Honda and join the team founded by the late Fausto Gresini.
Sky Sport Italia writes that only one detail is missing – finalizing the “divorce” with Honda, which may be complicated considering there is still one year left on a contract with significant numbers to fulfill.
Over the past few months, there have been several rumors about Márquez’s future due to Honda’s persistent struggles to find competitiveness. Along the way, options like KTM and Pramac were left behind.
The demands of the six-time champion include a one-year contract. If the move to Gresini is confirmed, it will be Márquez’s first experience with a satellite team and outside of Honda – riding a Ducati that does not have the latest specifications.
