The arrival of Marc Márquez at Gresini and on a Ducati bike is one of the big news of the MotoGP season. The rider is moderating expectations, in a phase where he still has to adapt to the Desmosedici GP23, but Michele Pirro – like many others – sees him as an immediate contender for the podiums.
The Italian told GPOne.com that he does not expect the six-time champion of the premier class to be clearly superior to the competition, but he has no doubts that he will regularly be in the fight for the podiums:
– I believe that Marc will be able to be fast and competitive right from the first races, to fight for podiums. He will no longer make an occasional appearance like last season and will be able to fight for top positions. It is obvious that it is still too early to say that he will give a second to everyone, that would be science fiction, our riders are as competitive as he is.
