After more than a decade connected to Honda Marc Márquez had a change that left many MotoGP fans amazed as he transferred to Gresini Racing. Someone who knows the rider well is Livio Suppo, who sees the Spaniard gradually adapting to the new manufacturer.
With vast experience, the former director of Ducati, Suzuki, and Honda commented on Marc Márquez’s transfer to Gresini Racing after an 11-year connection with Honda in an interview with Insella, quoted by Motosan, and said that the current bike presents a very big challenge compared to what he was used to before: ‘This makes a big difference, he is now adapting to Ducati and having a bike that behaves differently from a “traditional” bike. In Qatar he was 3 seconds behind, in Portimão he was at the front, I wouldn’t say he can’t complain’.
The Italian had previously said, with his eyes set on the next MotoGP round in Austin, a track with good memories for Márquez, that this could indeed be a round where the rider could aspire to fight for victory, although, without forgetting, he is in an adaptation process and it is necessary to ‘give him time’.
The fact is that Márquez has had a strong impact with Ducati and has had quite competent performances with the Desmosedici GP 23.
